Each year, MMGITA proudly sponsor numerous culturally-centered programs, designed to uplift, educate and inform the community. Such programs include the following:

March

Annual Women’s Conference – sponsored by the women of MMGITA, several great women serving as leaders, educators, public policy makers, spiritual leaders, opinion makers and community organizers offer in-depth discussion on the chosen conference topic;

 Nubian Women’s Market – this women’s market is an attempt to establish a community awareness of the innate creativity, artistry and genius of women. The Women’s Market features only handmade and recycled items.

April

Annual Men’s Conference – MMGITA invites several great men to offer in-depth discussion focused on solutions to embrace, heal, and nurture the African American Community.

May

African Liberation Day Festival – on or near the birthday of Malcolm X (May 19), we come together to celebrate our culture and honor all those past and present who represent our struggle for Freedom and Liberation;

December

Kwanzaa Celebration and Banquet - Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday which celebrates family, community and culture. Celebrated from 26 December thru 1 January, its origins are in the first harvest celebrations of Africa from which it takes its name. Since December 2000, MMGITA has taken great pride in sponsoring the Kwanzaa Celebration and Banquet to celebrate our culture, family and community.
